Dewey Beach Patrol 10K and 5K attract 248 runners

The Dewey Beach Patrol 10K and 5K Aug. 24 saw 127 runners elect the 5K distance and another 121 decide on the 10K. 

William Mckinen, 19, of Alexandria, Va., was the overall 5K winner in 17:17. Matt Sparacino, 41, was male masters champion and second overall in 19:17.

The running Oliphant sisters from Laurel, Alexis and Kelsey, who are also triplets, led the women’s race. Alexis ran 21:55 with Kelsey right behind in 21:59. Karly Paszucci, 41, was female masters champion in 25:07. 

Mike Guessford, 37, of Newark was the overall winner in the 10K race in 38:36. Jennifer Brill, 29, was second overall and the women’s 10K winner in 39:41. 

Pat Brogan, 52, was the male masters champion in 44:00. Mardiny Ung, 52, was female masters champion in 46:59.
