Dogfish, Revelation collaborate for Sussex County Land Trust

Independent brewers team up for own versions of In Tandem, to be released July 4
July 4, 2019

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Revelation Craft Brewing Company are joining forces to brew two versions of In Tandem, a special, draft-only beer, that will be released July 4.

The summer-centric Hefeweizen has been brewed with malt, wheat and strawberries from Sussex County. Revelation and Dogfish each put their own twist to this warm-weather quencher. Dogfish Head’s version of In Tandem includes nutmeg fruit to offer slightly sweet and nutty notes. Revelation’s version contains vanilla and lavender from Lavender Fields in Milton.

Sam Calagione, founder of Dogfish Head, said In Tandem is “a liquid tribute to all things independent - independent brewers and breweries, independent businesses, and coastal Delaware’s ability to be independent from motorized vehicles to visit the area’s many wonders.”

Revelation Founder Patrick Staggs said collaborations are fun ways to allow brewers to geek out on crafting something new. “For small craft brewers, our independence is an important component of our interdependence on each other to stay successful in our path for growth,” said Staggs.

Funds from the sales of In Tandem will benefit the Route 9 Trailhead planned by the Sussex County Land Trust, an area marking the halfway point between Dogfish’s Milton brewery and Revelation’s Georgetown facility on the Delaware Rails-to-Trails bike path.

The two breweries will offer their version of In Tandem on draft and in custom browlers at their Rehoboth locations – 320 Rehoboth Ave. for Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats; 19841 Central St. for Revelation.

Dogfish and Revelation will open at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 4, for the debut of In Tandem. Each location will kick off the day with the release of 200 32-ounce browlers filled with In Tandem. These limited-edition, plastic, water bottle-shaped growlers fit perfectly into the drink holder of most bikes.

All profits from browler sales, as well as $1 from every glass of In Tandem sold, will be donated to the Sussex County Land Trust.
