Sargent grew up in Delmar and returned to the area after studying medicine in Philadelphia, because he wanted to be close to his family. “My approach to people is simple and straightforward,” he said. “I always try to make people feel they are important. If I were in their place, it is how I would want to be treated.”
“He is a great and compassionate doctor,” said Damouni, who has been in practice for the last 10 years, most recently at Cedar Tree Medical and Urgent Care Center.
Sargent studied at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He treats adults and children, and he believes one medical issue can often affect other aspects of a patient’s life. “Everything is connected,” he said. “I treat the whole person as much as possible.”
It is a holistic approach that serves him well as he stresses the importance and dignity of each individual patient. He said he tries to be approachable and easy to talk to, and he draws on his own experiences as a patient when dealing with others.
“Every once in a while you get to make a big difference in people’s lives. That makes it all worthwhile. You will walk out of a room or finish a discussion and think that’s what it was all for,” he said.
Peninsula Health, located at 26744 John J. Williams Highway, Suite 7, next to Royal Farms and near Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church and the Nanticoke Indian Museum, is now accepting new patients.
A new walk-in clinic recently opened at Peninsula Health, and walk-ins are welcome from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
