DSO to perform on ferry May 15
Officials from the Cape May–Lewes Ferry and the Dover Symphony Orchestra met with Lewes Mayor Jim Ford April 29 at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal to promote the upcoming Symphony at Sea.
The 60-member Dover Symphony Orchestra will sail into spring by entertaining music lovers during the Symphony at Sea aboard the MV Twin Capes from 2 to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, May 15.
The ferry will make a round-trip cruise between Lewes and Cape May, N.J. Passengers will enjoy music from Big Band to Broadway, including popular tunes from famous shows. The musical cruise will include wine tasting, lavish hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants, cocktails, and a silent auction of unique items.
This first-time fundraising event can only accommodate 140 passengers on a first-come, first-served basis, according to DSO President Nancy Pikulik. The cruise is the result of a conversation with ferry officials last fall who suggested the idea.
Tickets are $100 with VIP seating available. Call 800-64FERRY (800-643-3779) or visit www.cmlf.com.
