Elizabeth R. Carpenter, poultry farmer

Elizabeth R. Carpenter, 93, of Pittsville, Md., passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2020. 

She was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Selbyville to the late Dalaney and Edna Bunting. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Edward Carpenter in 1976, as well as two brothers, Oscar and Merrill.

Elizabeth was a poultry farmer and later worked for Showell Poultry until her retirement. She was a very hard worker.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking care of her family and loved cats and dogs.

She is survived by two sons, David A. Carpenter of Delmar and Charles E. Carpenter (Joy Clark) also of Delmar.  She also leaves behind eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way; as well as one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Line United Methodist Church, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.  In accordance with the COVID 19 restrictions masks and social distancing will be required.
