Elks scholarship goes to Cape JROTC Cadet Lt. Col. Marina Santini

June 2, 2022

Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 presented a $1,000 scholarship to JROTC Cadet Lt. Col. Marina Santini, a disciplined, hardworking JROTC battalion commander and the highest-ranking cadet at Cape Henlopen High School. Ranked fifth overall in her graduating class, Santini will attend the University of Delaware this fall.

Santini displays the qualities of hard work, respect and good leadership that made her a logical Elks scholarship recipient. An active participant in Cape Henlopen High School’s JROTC program since her freshman year, Santini has also supported her community and Elks Lodge 2540 in a variety of patriotic and military-recognition events.

Recently, Santini received one of the JROTC’s most prestigious awards, the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for outstanding achievement. Only four of these awards are given each year in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The Elks extend congratulations to Santini and wish her continued success as she goes off to college.
