Elks Veterans Committee supports local organizations

Continuing its support for those who served this country in military service, Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 donated time and funds to veterans organizations countywide over the past few months.
The Elks donated $1,000 in support of the Stand Down in Dover. The annual event provides veterans with access to free services including housing assistance, medical and flu shots, job placement, haircuts, legal advice and meals.
A donation of $1,000 in $50 gift cards was delivered to Home of the Brave, which provide transitional housing and services to military veterans.
In support of the Delaware Technical Community College scholarship fund for veterans seeking higher education, the Elks presented a $2,500 donation.
To help cover costs associated with off-campus projects during the fall semester, the Elks donated $500 to Cape Henlopen High School JROTC.
The Cape Henlopen Elks Veterans Committee continues to identify, evaluate and support new veterans needs. In return, the veterans of Sussex County have learned that when they need support, they can count on the Cape Henlopen Elks.
