Entry deadline for Rehoboth Beach Gingerbread Contest is Nov. 1

The entry deadline for the 2018 Rehoboth Beach Gingerbread Contest is Thursday, Nov. 1. The contest, a fundraiser for Christmas Joy and other local ministries, will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, at Epworth UM Church. Spaces are limited and bakers are encouraged to sign up soon.

The Rehoboth Beach Gingerbread Contest is open to amateur and professional bakers. Entries will be judged on overall appearance, originality and creativity, technical skill, and consistency of theme. Creativity is encouraged and entries are not limited to houses. All parts of the entry must be edible and designs must be original, although replicas are permitted. Kits are prohibited.

People attending the event will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite amateur entries and bid on the professional creations. The event is free and open to the public.
