Experienced local offers private healthcare support

March 2, 2021

Retired integrative health professional Sally Laux, BSN, M.Ac., is now available to offer support for people who are overwhelmed by health demands.

Laux can be a part of the solution by providing private healthcare assistance including advocacy and care coordination. She brings a wealth of knowledge about illnesses and varied resources for wellness.

She personally tailors her care to each individual client, and can help patients and caregivers sort out and prioritize their needs. Laux can draw on her professional history to bring clarity by attending patients’ medical consultations to help them get the most benefit from office visits. She offers coordination of care, medication management, and respite care for caregivers, and can also lend a hand with transportation, meals, errands and welfare check-ins. If organizing and cleaning the home environment would help ease a client’s stress, that is also an option.

Laux’s services are affordable at $40/hour through private pay only; no insurance options are accepted. A sliding scale is available for proven hardships. There is no contract or commitment on the client’s end. She can provide a one-time consult or extend ongoing care if needed and wanted.

Laux has a passion for understanding people’s lives and individual health concerns along with the challenges of meeting healthcare needs. She believes people deserve more comfort and personal care when times are difficult.

More than 40 years ago, Laux received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Ohio State University. She furthered her studies with a master’s degree from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, focusing on acupuncture as her modality. For many years, she applied her knowledge and intuition toward supporting patients, clients and individuals to be their healthiest in body, mind and spirit.

In 2001, Laux moved to Delaware and resumed her acupuncture practice, also founding Quakertown Wellness in Lewes. She owned and operated the center until 2015 when she refocused on her own life needs. She sold the practice and tried to retire from the health field, but recognized she missed giving healthcare support.

She is currently an adjunct faculty member for the nursing program at Delaware Technical Community College. Laux said she loves teaching and passing on her experience and knowledge to future nurses.

She has seen vast changes over her four-plus decades in the field, relating both to nurses’ roles conducting healthcare delivery and the complexities of the larger healthcare industry. She recognizes these are daunting times for many people navigating the healthcare system.

Laux hopes to help people understand and coordinate their options, and wants to be a private personal resource. She is not providing support as a practicing nurse. As someone with years of healthcare experience, she can share her time and knowledge.
