Fall activities keep Georgetown Pack 95 busy

December 27, 2021

Georgetown Pack 95 has been busy since the scout program year started in September.

Kicking off the year with the Trails End popcorn sales, the cub scouts did a great job of selling at various locations as well as online. The September pack meeting was held in Jones Hall at Wesley Church and was enjoyed by all.

During the October fall festival pack meeting, scouts dressed in their favorite costumes and participated in different fun stations. Each scout was able to decorate and take home a small pumpkin.

Dens continued meeting weekly. All scouts were getting ready for the Sussex District Chariot Race held at Redden State Forest in the picnic area Nov. 6. Packs from all over Sussex County came to compete within their den categories. Pack 95 had the Lion Den, Wolf Den, and Webelos/Arrow of Light Den. At the end of a beautiful day, the Lion Den scouts and the and the Webelos/Arrow of Light scouts took first place in their age groups. The Wolf Den took third place.

At the November pack meeting, there was a Bobcat ceremony and recognition of all scouts who participated in the popcorn sales. Pack 95 has a tradition of scouts earning tickets for their involvement in sales. The tickets earn them a certain number of whipped cream pies which they can throw at a leader of their choice. Once the tickets were handed out, the pie throwing began. Several leaders were the lucky recipients of having a whipped cream pie in their faces

Several cub scouts joined in Caroling on The Circle Dec. 13. Each scout brought nonperishable goods to donate.

At the December pack meeting, Fun on the Run belt loops were presented to six Lion Den scouts for their advancement achievements. Everyone enjoyed audience participation in skits about Santa Claus and the 12 scouting days of Christmas. Scouts were also able to purchase their Pinewood Derby car kits for the event Saturday, Jan. 29.

Scout Sunday will be at Wesley Church Feb. 6, and the the Blue and Gold Banquet is set for Saturday, March 5.
