Fins Ale House and Raw Bar to open in Berlin, Md.
Expansion is on the horizon for one of Rehoboth's most established restaurateurs, Jeff Hamer, and Berlin, Md. is the next stop. Hamer will be bringing his Fins Ale House and Raw Bar concept to 119 North Main St. in Berlin, a building formerly occupied by Leaky Petes. Fins Ale House, sister restaurant to Fins Fish House and Claws Seafood House, both of Rehoboth, boasts a dining experience built around fresh and local seafood selections, choice raw oysters and a perfect marriage of quality and creativity. Staple items include homemade crab dip, fried oyster po’ boys and jumbo lump crab cakes, all complemented by nightly chef creations.
Not to be overlooked is a lengthy craft beer selection from across the country, the star of which will be Fins' own Big Oyster Brewery. The brewery, currently operating out of the Fins Ale House Coastal Highway location, is set to expand to Lewes this fall, and the Berlin location will serve as its very first introduction into the Maryland market. Big Oyster Brewery's unique approach to craft brewing is a combination of the traditional and the unexpected, with its feet firmly planted in a something for everyone philosophy.
"We have been welcomed by the community and local government with open arms and kindness; we have every intention of returning the gesture," says Hamer. The new location, adjacent to a public parking lot, will host monthly benefits for local schools and charities. Hamer is eyeing a mid-October opening, just in time to enjoy the outdoor seating offered. "In the interim, come see what we are all about by visiting our wonderful staff and friendly patrons at our Coastal Highway location in Rehoboth," he said.
