Funland bumper cars in 1987

May 13, 2025

Mother’s Day weekend marked the official opening of Funland on the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach. It will be the first without co-founder Al Fasnacht, who died in March at 96 years old. This photograph was taken in 1987, but just as easily could’ve been made last weekend. Not much has changed with the bumper car ride, although the photograph shows it only cost three tickets to ride at the time. Today, it’s five tickets.
