Georgia Lee De Marie, in real estate business

Georgia Lee De Marie, 82, of Ocean View, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehab Center in Millsboro.

She had formerly been a resident of Brandywine Assisted Living in Selbyville. Born in Dover, Lee was the daughter of the late Herbert and Emily (Saxton) Hughes. She was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, class of 1951, was a cheerleader, and was active in sports. Lee had many friends from Dover, Sussex County and Melbourne Beach, Fla. Mrs. De Marie and her husband Louis were in the real estate and land development business. Lee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, Lee was predeceased by her husband, Louis E. De Marie; her sister, Judith Hughes Stachecki; and her brother, Herbert E. Hughes Jr.

She is survived by her two daughters, Becky De Marie and husband Joe Thigpen, of Alachua, Fla., and Mary Spivak, and husband Jonathan of Bethany Beach; two sons, Louis E. De Marie of Indiatlantic, Fla. and Peter P. De Marie II and his wife Heather of Ocean View. Lee is also survived by two grandchildren, Bethany De Marie and Peter De Marie IV, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends in Delaware and Florida.

Friends may call Friday, Feb. 19, beginning at 10 a.m., at The Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
