Gerald Raymond Walton, Sea Watch retiree

Gerald Raymond Walton, 70, of Georgetown passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at his home. Gerald was born Nov. 2, 1948, to the late Raymond J. and Edna Walton in West Chester, Pa. 

He  was employed at Sea Watch in Milford. In West Chester, as well as in Milford, he was a member of the VFW (Post 106 and 6483), having proudly served our country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. In his free time, Gerald greatly enjoyed the outdoors, shooting guns, fishing and barbequing.  He was an avid Eagles fan, and also enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Most importantly, however, he loved to spend time with his family, who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by his daughter Heather, and his son Michael.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie (Sanger) Walton; his stepdaughter, Jessica Jones (Harley); his mother-in-law, Anita Betts; his brothers-in-law, Bob Sanger and Jesse Sanger; and his two grandchildren, Georgia and Little Harley.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, Jan. 25, at 12:30 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St. Georgetown, with a time of visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
