Gingerbread Contest and Breakfast with Santa set Nov. 24 at Epworth

The second annual Rehoboth Beach Gingerbread Contest will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 24, at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach. The contest features works by amateur and professional bakers. The public is invited to participate in the selection of amateur winners. Tickets for the People's Choice Vote are $1 each or six tickets for $5. Professional entries will be offered for sale at silent auction. The event raises money for Christmas Joy! and other local ministries. Admission is free.

Activities for children will include the opportunity to have breakfast with Santa and a visit from the Delaware Seaside Railroad Club's Thomas the Tank Engine. Tickets for Breakfast with Santa, $5 for children and $7 for adults, may be reserved by emailing info@gingerbreadjoy.org. A gluten-free breakfast option is available. The railroad display will be on site from 10 a.m. until noon.

Ocean Waves Quilt Guild will display more than 20 Christmas and winter-themed quilts. Some of the quilts will be for sale, with a portion of proceeds being shared with Christmas Joy. The event will also feature a cafe serving lunch, beverages and snacks.

The 2018 Rehoboth Beach Gingerbread Contest is presented by Accent on Travel.
