Girl Scout Cookie drive-thru sales set Feb. 20 in Millsboro

February 16, 2021

This year’s Girl Scout Cookie season is a challenging time when many Girl Scouts are selling in creative, socially distant and contact-free ways to keep themselves and their customers safe.

Girl Scout Troop 333 will host another drive-thru cookie sales event from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, in the Millsboro Town Hall parking lot. The scouts enjoy getting outside and practicing their entrepreneurial cookie sales skills, and also earning rewards, badges and money for the troop and the council.

The troop’s first drive-thru was so successful, the Girl Scouts have decided they definitely want to pursue this type of cookie booth every year.

Even with masks, social distancing, and hand sanitizer, the Girl Scouts had a lot of fun serving customers, practicing their customer service and money-handling skills, and just being together outdoors as a troop. The Girl Scouts and leaders are thankful to the Town of Millsboro and all the customers.

The troop will set up in the Millsboro Town Hall parking lot at 322 Wilson Highway to offer everyone’s favorites. Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Dosidos, Trefoils, Samoas and Lemon Ups will be available for $5 per box or $60 for a case of 12. Premium cookies, S’mores and gluten-free Toffee Tastics, will be on hand for $6 per box or $72 for a case of 12.

The Girl Scouts will also have their Operation Taste of Home bin out for donations to U.S. troops overseas and for many local first responder agencies, senior groups and nonprofits. Payment will be accepted on site via cash or credit card. Customers can also preorder via the link below (choose girl delivery for pickup at the drive-through) or stay home and have the cookies shipped right to their door.

Ordering online previously was limited to family and friends that had a girl’s unique cookie business web address. This year, consumers who don’t know a Girl Scout can still purchase cookies from a local troop for direct shipment to their homes or donation to local organizations.

Consumers can savor cookies and know that their longtime favorite treats are fueling future leaders and entrepreneurs. And as always, the proceeds from every purchase stay local with the troop and its council to power Girl Scouts’ essential leadership programming.
