Gruenebaum will bring change to county council

September 10, 2024

Last Thursday, my wife and I were glad we attended a meet and greet for Russ Huxtable and Jane Gruenebaum. If you don’t know Jane, she’s a Rehoboth Beach resident who co-founded and led the Sussex Preservation Coalition, which brought together citizens and decision makers from the state and county levels to discuss environmental issues. She recently resigned as SPC president to run for the District 3 seat on Sussex County Council. She will be just the wakeup call county council needs.

Jane’s experience includes serving in leadership positions at several Washington, D.C., policy-oriented nonprofits, including a stint as executive director of the National League of Women Voters.

Do you think we have a shortage of service workers in Sussex County? Jane does too. Do you think we need more affordable homes in Sussex County? Jane will work for that.

Are you tired of traffic congestion and rampant unplanned development in eastern Sussex County? Jane is. Do you think we need a balanced, common-sense approach to development? Jane knows what that takes. Are you paying more taxes for roads and schools because developers aren’t paying enough (impact fees)? Vote for Jane.

Are existing council members listening only to big developers and landowners, and not to those of us who are just trying to live here? Are they all talk and no action? County council makes the rules that govern development. As a member of county council, Jane will work to change codes as needed to protect our forests, wetlands and open spaces. She will bring our voices for smart action to council. Jane has always believed in President John F. Kennedy’s “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” approach to government service. Please join us and vote Jane Gruenebaum for Sussex County Council District 3.
