Hannah ‘Theresa’ Bovich, retired nurse

Hannah "Theresa" Bovich, 93, of Lewes passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.  She was born June 2, 1927, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., daughter of the late Adelard and Lena LaRocque.

Mrs. Bovich was a graduate of the College of Mount Saint Vincent, class of 1949, where she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing.  She built a career as a nurse and school nurse, retiring from Lakeland School District in 1989.  Mrs. Bovich spent the majority of her life in New York and raised her children there in Peekskill.  She was a faithful volunteer for The KEON Center, dedicating many hours managing their thrift store.  Mrs. Bovich had many hobbies and interests.  She was a voracious reader and avid traveler, and she enjoyed shopping, arts and crafts, and flower arranging.  Above all, Mrs. Bovich cherished time with those she held most dear.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bovich was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Raymond Bovich; her infant daughter, Kimberly Bovich; her brother, Bernard LaRocque; and her pets: Josephine and Lady.  She is survived by her children: Thomas Bovich, Pat Sharkey (Rob), Mike Bovich (Maria), Denise Calabrese (Chris), and Jack Bovich (Maureen); her six grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; and her sisters: Virginia Steltzer and Ann Argus.

Services are private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Bovich's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105, or to any charity of choice.
