Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids event set Nov. 5 in Milford
Celebrating the profound impact of garden education in more than 60 schools and their communities across Delaware, Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids will host a Meet Our Heroes event from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Food Bank of Delaware, 102 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford.
The event will shine a spotlight on heroes including students, educators and coordinators who bring HFHK’s school garden education program to life. These passionate contributors are at the heart of program, fostering hands-on learning, nutritious eating and environmental stewardship for future generations.
Along with local officials, attendees will have the chance to engage with HFHK team members, board directors, garden coordinators, educators and aligned organizations. Together, they champion initiatives promoting STEM education, nutritious eating, healthy living and environmental stewardship.
Through its science-based Education Cultivation program, HFHK combines gardening and nutrition education, engaging students in hands-on activities that align with Delaware science standards. By growing and enjoying fresh vegetables, students gain valuable life skills and a foundation for healthier futures.
