Indian River Volunteer Fire Company celebrates 70 years

Many community residents, neighbors and friends attended the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company’s 70th anniversary parade and celebration July 8.
The parade included about 45 entries, including other fire, police and EMS departments, Grand Marshal Terry Timmons, Rep. Ruth Briggs King, R-Georgetown, and other community and corporate partners.
The celebration also included various demonstrations, presentations, fire prevention information booths, food and refreshments at the fire house. Live entertainment was provided by George Spicer’s America Let’s Roll Band.
Recognitions were presented by the Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company, Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company and the Ladies Auxiliary Unit from Indian River.
