Irish Eyes Milton to host Broadkill Review reading March 25
The Broadkill Review and Irish Eyes in Milton will host their next literary reading from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 25. The featured readers will be Richard M. Peabody and Sid Gold.
Peabody is the founder, publisher and editor of Gargoyle, the nation’s most respected independent literary magazine, and author of "Speed Enforced by Aircraft," from the Broadkill River Press. Gold is winner of the 1997 Washington Writers Publishing House Award, and author of "Good with Oranges," and "The Year of the Dog Throwers," both from The Broadkill River Press. An open reading follows the program.
Sign-up for the open reading portion begins at 7 p.m. Each featured reader will read for 20 minutes, with the remainder of the time allotted to a limited number of five-minute open readings.
The March literary reading will be the second in the series offered by The Broadkill Review and Irish Eyes in Milton at 7 p.m. the last Wednesday of every month. The first reading featured H. A. Maxson, author of the new collection, "Lemon Light," from the Broadkill River Press, and 2010 Dogfish Head Poetry Prize Winner Amanda Newell, author of "Fractured Light," from the Broadkill Press. Roughly 30 people attended, and 11 people shared their work during the open reading.
Hosted by three of The Broadkill Review’s editors, each reading in the series will present two of the best new and established writers of poetry and prose, followed by an open reading to which the public is invited. Gary Hanna is contributing editor and book reviewer for The Broadkill Review. Linda Blaskey is poetry editor and interview editor for The Broadkill Review, and Jamie Brown is publisher and editor-in-chief of The Broadkill Review.
