James Francis Mulholland Sr., avid traveler

James Francis Mulholland Sr., 72, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer, at home in Rehoboth Beach. He was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late Joseph Leroy and Margaret Mulholland.

Mr. Mulholland built a lifelong career for US Steel in Fairless Hills, Pa., from which he retired after many dedicated years. He was a member of Tacony Lodge 600 Free Masons and LuLu Shriners. Mr. Mulholland was an avid traveler, enjoying cruises and visiting all around the world. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he loved. Mr. Mulholland was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mulholland was preceded in death by his first wife, Renee Mulholland; his daughter-in-law, Amber Mulholland; his stepson, Danny Valera; and his brother, Joseph Mulholland. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Catherine Mulholland; his children: Cheri Goodgion (John) of Levittown, Pa., and Jimmy Mulholland Jr. of Rehoboth Beach; his stepdaughter-in-law, Sarah Valera; his grandchildren: Nathan, Breanna, Hailey, Samantha (Kris), James III, Carli (Dan), Ian, Sophie, and Olivia; his great-granddaughter, Ensley; his siblings: Jackie Frawley (Denise) of Nottingham, Pa., and Margie Ambrose (Mark) of Croydon, Pa.; his sister-in-law, Carol Armstrong; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Uniatowski (Linda) and his deceased wife, Mary-Ann; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; his loyal canine companions, Duke and Wings; his two cats; and his three birds.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 2 p.m.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks are required and social distancing must be observed by all persons attending or participating in any aspect of the services.
