Jeffrey Thomas Gonce, owned landscape company

Jeffrey Thomas Gonce, 46, of Lewes passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was born April 19, 1973, in Baltimore, Md., son of Lyman W. Gonce Jr. and Joyce A. Gonce.

Jeff graduated from Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Md., class of 1992. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in political science from Towson University in 1996. Jeff, alongside his brother, was the proud owner and operator of Henlopen Landscape, a local landscaping company. In his spare time, he loved going to the beach and swimming with his Labrador retrievers, Captain and Lily; they were the loves of his life. Jeff was a loving son, brother and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Jeff is survived by his brother, David Gonce and his partner Tyler Townsend of Rehoboth Beach; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 12,  at 11 a.m., at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes.

Friends may also call the evening prior, Tuesday, June 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.
