Jimmie Allen sells out second annual Bettie James Fest

The second annual Bettie James Fest at Hudson Fields saw more than 6,000 Jimmie Allen fans spread out over eight acres to see the 2021 Country Music Association New Artist of the Year Award winner sing his many hits.

Opening for Allen was 2005 Cape grad Derek Daisey, who appeared in the thespian performance of “Footloose” with Allen in 2004 when Allen was a senior at Cape High. The second opening act was Kounty, aka Brandon Leggins, a rapper who also graduated from Cape, in 2006.

Other opening acts included We The Kings, Lainey Wilson, Neon Union and JJ Rupp.

Allen performed new songs from his recent LP and numerous other fan favorites.
