Joan Kreich Stranix, beloved mother

October 13, 2025

Joan Kreich Stranix, widow of Ronald Stranix Sr., left this earth Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, for the big dance floor in the sky, where Ron will be waiting to dance to our favorite, Old Time Rock and Roll. I was born Dec. 20, 1936, in Hubbard, Ohio, to Steve and Clara Kriech. Besides my parents, I was predeceased by my daughter, Karla, and son, Kerry. Others I will be anxious to see again who also left too soon are my brother, Tom, and nephews, Jody and Shawn. I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful son, Joel, whom I will miss terribly. I was also lucky enough to be blessed with a stepson, Michael, and his family, who made me feel as if I were an actual blood relative. They are Jennifer Stranix, who I feel was my real daughter; three wonderful grandchildren, Jeffrey Maiorana, Jessica Freitas (Jesse) and Matthew Stranix (Taylor); and great-grandchildren, Dayla, Maya and Jaxson. I’m also leaving my great sister-in-law, Carol, and my longtime companion, Rudy Komacek.

While on earth, I previously lived in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I was a legal secretary for 20 years and an administrative assistant before retiring in 1998 and moving to Delaware. I attended Mary Mother of Peace Church and belonged to Springford Country Club in Pennsylvania and Shawnee Country Club in Delaware. Other groups I was involved with included Lewes Senior Activity Center, CHEER Center, American Legion Auxiliary, and Singles Seniors Beach Club, both as a president and a member. I have always loved traveling, especially to Jamaica and Hawaii. Well, folks, it's time for me to get up there and start dancing. Until we meet again, my love to all of you.

It is my request that there be no services, just a small private celebration of life and a private service at the cemetery in Ohio.
