John Henry Emig, retired plumber

John Henry Emig, 77, of Millsboro, formerly of Chesapeake Beach, Md., passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

John was born Sept. 18, 1942, and raised in Washington, D.C. He is the son of the late Warren Emig and Josephine Reid. He began his career as a plumber in 1963 and retired from the Plumbers Local Union 5 in Washington, D.C. in 2005.

John enjoyed boating, fishing, cornhole, bocce ball and riding around on his tricked-out golf cart.  He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Henry Emig Jr. in 1990.  He is survived by his loving companion and best friend of 25 years, Carol Schumaker; three children, Jennifer Lynn Beasley (Ron Linder) of Hughesville, Md., Paul Anthony Emig (Kimberly) of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Jeffrey Mark Emig (Kim) of Pasadena, Md.; five grandchildren, Matthew Beasley (Lisa), Megan Beasley (Michael Brewrink), Madalyn Emig, Courtney Emig and Camden Emig; a great-grandson, Quevin Emig; a brother, Michael Anthony Emig (Jackie) of Dunkirk, Md.; and his close friends of Pot-Nets Lakeside.

Services and burial are private.
