Julia Lane Holleger, loved by many

Julia Lane Holleger, 91, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023, at Brandywine Living Seaside Pointe (Reflections), Rehoboth Beach. She was born June 29, 1932, and grew up in Milford, daughter of the late Ashton and Elta (Hill) Lane.

Julia was a homemaker and worked at L.D. Caulk.

She was one of 12 children, and was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bayard Holleger.

She is survived by her three sons, Bayard Jr. (Denise) of Rehoboth Beach, Brian J. (Sheila) of Smyrna, and Randall S. (Monda) of Royersford, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Victoria, Shannon, Kelly, Laura, Mary, Dianne, Paul, Beth and John; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Lane (Lorita) of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Mely Lane of Virginia Beach, Va., and Hilda Holleger of Milford; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Her presence will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, 850 N. DuPont Blvd, Milford.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude, support, and love for the wonderful care provided to Julia and her family by the staff, nurses, and aides of Brandywine Living (Reflections) and AccentCare Hospice.

 

In lieu of flowers, Julia had requested that a donation in her memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
