Julie Ann Costigan Bucci, 67, of Georgetown passed away peacefully Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Delaware Hospice, Milford.
Julie was born in Upper Darby, Pa., and was a 1969 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them, and especially loved her role as a grandmom. She had a vivacious personality and made friends wherever she went, and loved to have a good laugh with friends and family. Julie centered her love for children in her home daycare center in Wilmington, where she loved and cared for children for 26 years. Following her retirement she had an active role in enriching the lives of children in various educational settings in Lewes. Julie was vice president of the Delaware Daycare Association and became the first person accredited nationally for daycare in Delaware. Julie loved to travel and cherished a good day on the beach.
She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine Endres Costigan.
Julie was a dedicated wife of 46 years to Floyd “Butch” Bucci; loving mother to Eric (Kylee) Bucci, Keith (Melissa) Bucci and Julia (Mike) Crew; and grandmom to Madison, Carter and Austin Bucci; loving sister of Catherine and her late husband John Gondek, Col. Daniel (Patricia) Costigan Jr., Coleen (Edward) Meehan, Mark (Mary) Costigan, Joanne (William) Medrow and Richard (Gail) Costigan; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
