This summer, the vacant building on Federal Street across from Milton Elementary School is set to be reborn as Juniper Modern Market.
Owner Ashley DiMichele said she is hoping to open in July or August in two phases. The first phase will feature construction of a new grab-and-go-style café with full lunches, a coffee bar, pastries, locally made items and pantry staples.
After opening, DiMichele said the next phase will have two sections. The first will be called the Lily Pad and will be a community space where people can work and eat, as well as a creative arts space with art, music and specialty dinners, and it will also be available for events and rentals.
She said the second section will be more of a marketplace with locally sourced food and goods.
