Just Us Cat Rescue sets fundraiser dinners at 1776 Steakhouse

Just Us Cat & Kitten Rescue, a local 501c3 nonprofit, will host its annual fundraiser with two dinner seatings, from 4 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, at 1776 Steakhouse in the Midway Shopping Center along Route 1 north of Rehoboth Beach.

The restaurant will donate 25% of its proceeds to Just Us. Each seating will feature a 50/50 raffle and silent auction items, plus some fun door prizes. 

The fundraiser is a cash/check event. The cost of food is separate from the fundraiser and is payable to 1776; credit cards are accepted.  

Reservations are required. To reserve space, call Sharon Robertson at 215-767-0148. The restaurant will not be taking reservations.

Raffle proceeds will benefit the weekly spay and neuter program through Just Us partner Brandywine Valley SPCA. Prizes include NFL tickets to the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Washington Commanders game Jan. 3 or 4, in a private suite with food and beverages provided; a cruise for two to Bermuda out of Baltimore; and a $1,000 Amazon gift card.

Just Us was formed in 2006 with the mission to manage cat and kitten communities in Sussex County. An all-volunteer organization, Just Us serves by performing a variety of functions including rescue, foster, trap, spay/neuter and return. In 2025, Just Us has spayed/neutered 505 cats and kittens at no or low cost. The adoption of more than 350 cats and kittens has been facilitated, and more than 350 pets have received services at its low-cost vaccine clinics.
