Karl E. Connors, master mechanic, welder
Karl E. Connors, 59, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025. Karl was born on Dover Air Force Base, son of the late Robert C. Jr., and Laura A. (Fuller) Connors.
Karl spent his childhood years in Milton, attended Milton Junior High, and made many great memories, gaining lifelong friends. He earned his Tech 5 certification and worked as a master mechanic at Sears in Seaford, and later expanded his craft to welding with Bethlehem Steel at Sparrow’s Point near Baltimore. Karl spent time in West Virginia and Baltimore, eventually returning to Delaware.
Karl enjoyed welding, working on cars, drinking beer, watching NASCAR, and the Baltimore Ravens.
In addition to his parents, who both passed in 1999, Karl was preceded in death by his wife, Janet C. Connors in 2017; and brother, John J. Connors, who passed in March.
He is survived by four brothers, Robert C. Connors III, Ron Connors, Chris Connors and David Connors; six nieces and nephews, Sara, Samantha, CJ, Amanda, David Jr., and Kaitlynne; nine great-nieces and -nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, Aug. 15, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 416 Federal St., Milton, where a time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
