Kerry D. Smith, 72, of Lewes, sadly left us Monday, March 13, 2023, after a battle with serious medical issues. He passed at home with his loving wife of 52 years by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Smith (Newman); their two children, Robert Smith (Dolores Smith) and Amy Schuyler (James Schuyler); and five grandchildren; Justin Smith, Rebecca Smith, Paige Smith, Megan Schuyler and Jacob Schuyler. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Smith (Walker); and brother, Kenneth Smith (Nora Smith); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Kerry retired from the Rehoboth Beach Police Department in 1986, after serving with both the police department and Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company. He returned to Lewes in 2005 and again became an active member of Rehoboth Beach Fire Police of which he proudly served as a member until his health declined.
As per Kerry's request, there will be no services.
