Kingsmen Quartet to perform gospel concert Sept. 21 in Dover

September 4, 2018

The Modern Maturity Center in Dover and the Delmarva Gospel Music Association will present the Kingsmen Quartet Friday, Sept. 21. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person for dinner and the show.

Since 1956, this group has risen from humble beginnings in the mountains of western North Carolina to become one of the most beloved and innovative groups in Christian music. The momentum has not stopped as this group continues to help define the southern gospel genre for a whole new generation of music lovers.

The successes of The Kingsmen have led to many prestigious opportunities. In 1977, The Kingsmen performed on the south lawn of the White House for President Jimmy Carter. They were the first group to film and record a live performance at the famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. They have been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Christian Music Hall of Fame.

Today, The Kingsmen consist of 2008 hall of fame inductee Ray Dean Reese, his son Brandon Reese, Chris Jenkins and Chris Bryant.

Tickets are on sale now. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 302-734-1200, Ext. 67. Proceeds benefit programs for older adults in Kent County.
