Kyle Brightbill and Erin Taylor win BreastFest 5K overall titles

The sixth annual BreastFest 5K held Aug. 17 in Dewey Beach was run under hot and humid conditions, and attracted 264 runners.  

The overall winner was Kyle Brightbill, 44, of Philadelphia in a time of 17:56. Brian Diksa, 38, of Havertown, Pa., was second followed by Mike Marciano, 30, of Ocean View in 18:31. 

Erin Taylor, 37, of Raleigh, N.C., was the women’s winner in 18:45, followed by Kelaine Conochan, 36, of Washington, D.C., in 20:21 and masters winner Jen Schwomeyer, 40, in 21:31.

Martin Kerrigan, 40, of Baltimore won the male masters title in 20:00. 

Male age-group winners were: 9-and-under, Landon Bratz, 6, 26:36, the race was No. 50 completed for Landon in his young running career; 10-13, Brayden Perry, 21:29; 14-18, Louis Montano, 18:58; 19-24, Mark Ippolito, 22:12; 25-29, Chris Vodzak, 23:43; 30-34, Mike Marciano, 18:31; 35-39, Brian Diksa, 18:21; 40-44, Kyle Brightbill, 17:56; 45-49, Mick Donnelly, 20:43; 50-54, Steven Wonk, 22:14; 55-59, Jim Hughes, 22:23; 60-64, Vic Yzaguirre, 25:10; 65-69, James Yacucci, 23:57; 70-74, Jules Woodall, 25:26; 75-79, Bernie Gallagher, 26:49; 80-and-over, John Neal, 47:02. 

Female age-group winners were: 10-13, Sienna Sylves, 26:59; 14-18, Lisa Ryan, 22:58; 19-24, Ginger Shaud, 24:09; 25-29, Jessica Lewis, 23:43; 30-34, Carly Jornlin, 23:03; 35-39, Erin Taylor, 18:45; 40-44, Jen Schwomeyer, 21:31; 45-49, Stacey Esposito, 22:25; 50-54, Mardiny Ung, 22:47; 55-59, El Jones, 22:18; 60-64, Nina Smeltzer, 26:00; 65-69, Linda Ridenour, 28:47; 70-74, Cindy Miller, 35:51; 75-79, Pat Weyant, 45:00. 

The next Races2Run beach race is the 17th annual Dewey Beach Patrol 5K and 10K at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, at Ivy restaurant on Dagsworthy Avenue.
