La Red Health Center announces changes to improve patient care access

September 7, 2025

La Red Health Center recently announced it has taken several steps to improve patient access to services across its clinics in Milford, Georgetown and Seaford.

To meet the growing demand for care, the center has added new providers in primary care, pediatrics and behavioral health, all of whom are now accepting new patients. In addition, LRHC has made the decision to partner with an outside bilingual organization to manage its call center, a move designed to reduce patient wait times and improve the scheduling experience. La Red also decided to make its hours more convenient for working families by opening its Georgetown office two Saturdays a month from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. La Red is also offering extended hours at its Seaford office, which will now be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.

New providers now accepting patients are: Leena Saj and Ana Guerrero, psychiatric nurse practitioners; Erica J. Persaud, MEd, LPCMH, LCDP, NCC; Anastacia Keenan, pediatric nurse practitioner; Susan Lankford and Cynthia Abrefa-Kodom, family nurse practitioners; and Rebecca Lewis, physician assistant.

LRHC leaders said the call center change reflects the organization’s commitment to listening and responding to patient feedback.

“As a community health center, we want to include the voices of our patients in the care that they receive,” said Rachel Hersh, La Red CEO. “Our patients told us they were experiencing long wait times when calling for appointments. We listened to their concerns and, after careful consideration, determined that the best way to improve their experience is by partnering with a third-party call center that brings additional resources and technology to better serve our patients.”

The transition to the outside call center vendor will take place in September. La Red is also using its mobile health unit to bring services directly into the community and help more patients connect to ongoing care at La Red.

“Providing access to quality healthcare services is our No. 1 priority at La Red,” Hersh said. “Removing obstacles to care and improving patient outcomes is at the heart of what we do. We believe these changes will strengthen our patients’ ability to connect to care when and where they need it.”
