Lanis Jeanne Dubois, Beebe Healthcare retiree

Lanis Jeanne Dubois, 62, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, as a result of complications from a chronic illness, myelofibrosis.

Lanis was born in Jacksboro, Texas March 31, 1957. She graduated from Catawba College, Salisbury, N.C., in 1978, with a degree in adaptive physical education. After relocating to the Delaware seashore from Rockville, Md., in 2000, Lanis was employed as a manager in Patient Business Services at Beebe Healthcare until her retirement in 2017.

Lanis and her life partner of 24 years (married for the past six years), Cherrie Rich, have resided in Bethany Beach since 2000. Their home was a frequent vacation destination for their large families. Lanis was appreciated as an informal counselor to many family and friends.

Lanis was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Don Leta Dubois; and an older sister, Karen Ann Landon.

She is survived by her spouse, Cherrie Rich; and siblings, Stephanie Dubois of Page, Ariz., Bryan Dubois of Candler, N.C., Paul Dubois of Austin, Texas, Lynn Mohrmann of Mechanicville, N.Y. and Mathew Dubois of Garland, Texas; 10 nieces and nephews; and Diane Wheeler of Bethany Beach, best friend and dog granny of her two dogs (Kaiser and Casino) 

There will be no formal memorial service, however there will be at least three celebrations of her life in places she most loved, Lake Bethany in Bethany Beach, the Salapek Farm in Warren, Pa., and Lake Powell in Page, Ariz.
