Larry Eugene Dunning, loved singing, dancing
Larry Eugene Dunning, 71, of Lewes, departed this life Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born July 17, 1950, in Lewes, to the late Willie H. Savage and Julia Dunning Savage.
Larry attended William C. Jason Comprehensive High School. He worked at Townsend Bean Plant for many years and then Lowe’s for many years until his retirement.
Larry was known around town by his nickname “Geeter,” and affectionately known for his love of singing and dancing. He also played the drums in a local band with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Savage; and sister, Catherine Savage.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories six children, Sebastian Dunning (Shawnette), Tina Harmon, Monique Dunning, Sonya Dunning, Barbara Allen, and Veronica Allen; eight siblings, Richard Dunning (Cecila), William “Bill Jim” Savage, Beverely Savage, Robert Savage (Maxine), Virginia Nock, Sally Davis, Anthony Savage (Emma) and Linda Campbell (Satch); 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; best friend, Spencer Kennedy; special friend, Alin Buckley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon, Saturday, Feb. 5, at Friendship Baptist Church, 500 W. 4th St., Lewes. Family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service.
