Letter: Bucchioni campaign volunteers wonderful

November 9, 2018

Before too much time goes by, my wife Linda and I want to share our personal reflections on what became most important to us in running for the state House District 20 this past election cycle, i.e., working with our campaign volunteers and supporters.

We do get the frequent question of,“How do you feel now that the election is over?” To this inquiry, we first felt numb and exhausted.

We then truly found there are not enough words to express our love for the volunteers and supporters who gave of themselves to get us elected.

Although we fell short this time, the experience of personally bearing witness to the tremendous display of kindness and giving toward a common goal was beautiful to behold.

Our volunteers, collectively, did raise the consciousness of the local electorate to refocus on District 20’s greater good. They unselfishly did this with pride and energy beyond belief. To this end, they were always on task to aggressively push for government accountability. Our volunteers never blinked once. Bravo!

Jack often quoted John Kennedy’s favorite, “Our ocean is so big and our boat so small.” To this lament, our volunteers always showed up, with new members time and time again to help. These incredible “soldiers” never let up right to the finish line on Tuesday, at which time they had assembled an army!

Now, Linda and I are better people because our volunteers were motivated to give back to their community.

From the bottom of our hearts please know how much we appreciate and respect each and every one of you.

Thank you. You have changed us forever!

Linda and Jack Bucchioni
