Lewes Lettering Co. calligraphy workshops to start Dec. 7
Lewes Lettering Co. announced upcoming calligraphy workshops to be held at its downtown Lewes shop.
The workshops provide a casual yet informative setting for participants to explore the world of lettering. No prior experience is necessary, just an open mind and a desire to explore something new.
Faux-Calligraphy Workshop: A Creative Introduction will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursdays, Dec, 7, Jan. 11, and Feb. 8. Faux-calligraphy offers an approachable entry point into the art of hand-lettering. Using only a standard pen or pencil, participants will learn how to craft aesthetically pleasing letters that mimic traditional calligraphy. No fancy tools or prior experience are needed. Tickets are $40 each.
Pointed Pen Calligraphy Workshop: Where Nib & Ink Meet Paper will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 17, and Sunday, Jan. 21. For those seeking a deeper dive into calligraphy, these workshops provide a more advanced experience. Pointed pen calligraphy is an art form using specialized nibs and inks to produce exquisite, flowing letters with a timeless allure. Under the guidance of Katy Ackerman, owner of Lewes Lettering Co., attendees will develop the skills to create their own distinctive pieces of art. Tickets are $100 each.
