Lewes railroad group to ring in new year Jan. 1

Lewes Junction Railroad & Bridge Association will join the Lewes 250 celebration by ringing in the year of the United States’ 250th birthday at 10 a.m., Jan. 1.
The bell belonging to its 1913 Pennsylvania Railroad steam engine #60 will be placed on the track at Lewes Junction next to the Lewes Public Library. Children may ring the bell for free.
Festivities continuing through 2 p.m. include free hot beverages and cookies as well as tours of the red caboose decorated for the holidays. To learn more, go to lewesjunctionrr.org.
