Locals Supporting Locals hosting Matt’s Comeback

November 15, 2018

Locals Supporting Locals hosted Matt’s Comeback Oct. 29 at Irish Eyes. Matt Woods had a lung infection that turned into strep throat that turned into pneumonia. He was in a coma for nine days, and they were convinced he was going to die. When he did finally wake up, he was in septic shock and they had to amputate both his legs from the knee down. He is so incredibly positive about everything, though. He has goals to be in the Paralympics and maybe even join the military. The Lewes Room at Irish Eyes was full of Matt’s friends and supporters. The evening featured local music from Electric Smoke, 33 1/3, Hot Sauce The Five 8 and the Funsters, complimentary food, 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. Matt’s positive attitude  is reflected in his quote, “I was born with a gift. That no matter what happens to me, or anyone around me, or anything in this world, that I will be able to see the light, the positive force that triumphs over everything else.” Funds raised will go to help Matt with the medical expenses.
