The Lodge at Historic Lewes opens to enthusiastic response

August 10, 2023

A brand-new destination for senior living has arrived in Lewes.

Seniors seeking resort-style living with abundant amenities, exceptional wellness programs and the flexibility of monthly rental apartments need look no further.

With the final inspections and signs-offs having taken place during the first week of July, the Lodge at Historic Lewes, aka Lewes Lodge, is now open and welcoming residents into their new homes at 1008 Kings Highway. Independent living residents began moving in July 17, and assisted living and memory care residents will arrive home in late August or early September. A limited number of apartments remains for all levels of care, but they are filling up quickly.

Lewes Lodge boasts 175 modern and spacious apartments, with 78 independent living, 65 assisted living, and 32 private and semi-private units in memory care.

It has significantly fewer upfront costs than other similar communities, giving residents the financial flexibility and freedom that only a monthly rental community can provide.

“We are blown away by the response we’ve received from our residents since beginning the leasing phase of our opening. Our residents in independent living are looking forward to the worry-free lifestyle that they’ve earned, and our assisted living and memory care residents and their families are eager to move in and begin experiencing the exceptional care Vantage Point communities are known for,” said Melissa Miller, the Lodge at Historic Lewes director of community relations. “People are so excited to move into this beautiful building and begin enjoying the community of neighbors and friends that will make up the Lodge at Lewes.”

Available to residents are several full-service dining outlets including high-quality restaurants and a casual bistro; state-of-the art fitness center; on-site physical, occupational and speech therapy; an array of fitness and exercise programs; a full-size movie theater; and full-service salon and spa. Additional services to be provided will be weekly housekeeping, linen service, 24/7 security, in-house concierge, transportation, daily activities, social programs and more.

“Lewes is a town near and dear to our hearts, and we are both proud and grateful to be welcomed as a part of this community. We truly believe in what we do, and that by offering best-in-class apartments, amenities and care to our seniors, we are making a difference,” said Rita Stevens, vice president and co-founder of Vantage Point Retirement Living, the company responsible for building and managing the Lodge at Historic Lewes.

With its opening, the Lodge at Historic Lewes is one of the larger employers in the region. As a family-owned and -operated management company, Vantage Point has become known for its team-oriented culture and family-friendly atmosphere. With new residents moving in every day, the Lewes Lodge staff is eager to build its team and create an unmatched atmosphere for all who live and work in the community. There are a variety of positions available, including dining, hospitality, facilities, nursing, activities and more.
