Lora M. Scott, devoted to family

Lora M. Scott of Millsboro died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016. She was born Jan. 11, 1939, the only daughter of Charles and Mary Pilger (née LaScalla). She was preceded in death and is now reunited with her husband, Allen D. Scott.

Lora was born in Freeport, N.Y., and spent many years in the Wilmington area prior to retiring and relocating to Millsboro in 1995. She worked in the food service industry and especially enjoyed the many years she spent at Holly Lake either working or socializing with her friends.

She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, mom-mom, sister and friend. Lora is survived by her four sons and daughter, William (“Billy”) Scott, Edward (“Eddy”) Scott (Mary), Paul Scott (Mary), Allen (“Scotty”) Scott (Teresa), and Kathleen Scott (George Kachnovitz); 12 grandchildren, William Jr. and Dayna Scott, Bridget Frosch, Catherine and Kevin Scott, Paul Jr. and Jonathon Scott, Kayla Scott, Michael, Paige, and Tara Millis, and Abby Kachnovitz; her brothers, Charles Pilger, John Pilger (Rae); nieces and nephews.

Lora will be remembered for her friendly and outgoing personality. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and her morning coffee outings. Her hobbies included ceramics, paintings and word puzzles.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro, Saturday, March 5, celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
