Students in Love Creek Elementary’s immersion program held a winter showcase for their peers and parents that featured a selection of traditional Hispanic holiday songs.
Immersion students from kindergarten through fifth grade entertained classes the morning of Dec. 14 in preparation for a family showcase held Dec. 15 at Beacon Middle School.
Teacher Jhoana Pazmino said the event is part of the school’s initiative to develop cultural awareness and promote the immersion program.
Students sang a selection of traditional tunes in Spanish, including “8 Kandelikas,” “Cascabel,” “La Mula,” “Llegó la Navidad,” “El Burrito Sabanero” and “El Canto a la Alegria.”
