Mabel ‘Mimi’ Wolf, retired receptionist

September 26, 2018

Mabel "Mimi" Wolf, 91, of Rehoboth Beach, and more recently Harbor Healthcare in Lewes, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

In her youth and early adulthood, Mimi lived in New York, in towns bordering the Hudson River.  When she moved to Wichita, Kan., in the early 1950s, it was always her wish to return to the East Coast and live within earshot of the Atlantic Ocean.  In 1982, Mimi and her husband Warren Harding Wolf moved to Rehoboth Beach.  For more than 20 years, Mimi enjoyed her role as receptionist at the Rehoboth Animal Hospital, first for Dr. John Boros and upon his retirement, Dr. Tim Dabkowski.  She loved engaging with the pet owners, laughing with them about their pets' antics, or comforting them at times of loss.  Prior to her work in Rehoboth, Mimi held political positions in Wichita, and served as an officer, or in leadership roles for the Republican Women, Business and Professional Women, Insurance Women and Eastern Star.

Mimi is survived by her daughters: Cynthia Turner of Washington, D.C., and Rehoboth Beach, and Shirley Turner of Rehoboth Beach; her adoring grandchildren: Joshua Jansen (Sherrie) of Hagerstown, Md., and Amanda Shestina (Jimi) of Los Angeles, Calif.; and her great-grandson, Justin Jansen of Hagerstown.

Services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests volunteering or making a donation to the Delaware Humane Association Adoption Center, 18675 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, or delawarehumane.org/donate.
