Make both Lewes elections easier

May 13, 2021

In this small town (city?) of ours, I would hope that before the next set of city council and BPW elections, we could agree to make life easier for our voters.  In order to encourage and reinforce voters, we will only need to do three things:

Combine registrations for both elections - one person, one registration which allows you to vote for both city council and BPW.

Combine actual voting to one location and one line by placing all choices for both entities on one ballot. (Modern technology can do that!)

By combining both ballots to one location and one machine, there will be double the number of voting machines for the electors to use. If we also bring in a few more volunteers to work (Lewes has a plethora of qualified volunteers!), people will move through the line much more quickly, which given the average age of voters in Lewes, would be appreciated by many!

It’s time for BPW and the city council to work together for the voters of Lewes!

Removing the blocked door in City Hall that separates the two organizations may be a good first step to demonstrate unity for the citizens of Lewes!
