Mariah Calagione to chair trustees at Northfield Mount Hermon School

August 15, 2018

The Northfield Mount Hermon Board of Trustees has elected Lewes resident Mariah Draper Calagione to serve as its chair for a three-year term ending in May 2021. Calagione is a 1989 graduate of the prestigious boarding school in western Massachusetts. She and husband Sam Calagione founded and run Dogfish Head Brewery. Their business includes two restaurants in Rehoboth Beach and Milton, and an inn in Lewes.

An active NMH trustee for the past seven years, Calagione has served on several board committees, including Academic and Student Life, Advancement, Enrollment, and Strategic Planning, as well as on a number of ad hoc committees. Most recently she was co-chair of the Advancement Committee.

Calagione has deep roots at Northfield Mount Hermon. She is the daughter of the late Thomas Draper, a 1960 NMH graduate and former NMH trustee, and the sister of Thomas Draper Jr., who also attended NMH. She and husband Sam Calagione, a 1988 NMH alumnus, have been highly engaged as NMH alumni volunteers and donors. They are the parents of a May 2018 NMH graduate as well as a current NMH student.

Currently serving on the Head of School Search Committee, Calagione is excited to partner with the incoming head to lead NMH into its next successful chapter.
