Mariner Math League celebrates repeat win among middle schools

Mariner Middle School Math League is celebrating its second consecutive victory in a fall competition against Fred Thomas, Beacon and Selbyville middle schools.
Mariner students demonstrated exceptional teamwork, critical thinking and persistence, all skills that propelled them to a clean sweep of the top three team placements.
Mariner entered three hardworking teams into the competition, each showcasing a strong commitment to preparation and problem solving. By the end of the event, Mariner teams had earned first, second and third place overall. Team No. 1 led the way with an impressive 19 points, while Team No. 3 earned 10 points and Team No. 2 added 9 points, bringing Mariner’s total score to an outstanding 38 points.
Teachers and coaches praised the students not only for their mathematical abilities, but also for their dedication and positive attitudes throughout the season. Students spent hours practicing complex problems, collaborating with teammates and sharpening the mental strategies needed for success in a competitive academic environment.
“Watching these students grow and challenge themselves has been incredibly rewarding,” said coach Rachel Clendaniel. “Their hard work, enthusiasm and team spirit truly set them apart.”
With two victories already secured, excitement is building for what lies ahead. The Mariner Middle School Math League team has set a high bar for the remainder of the season, and the school community is eager to see how far this talented group of young mathematicians will go.
For now, Mariner Middle School celebrates a competition win, along with the drive, perseverance and passion for learning that made it possible.
