Martin ‘Marty’ F. Horton, retired from corrections

Martin "Marty" F. Horton, 82, of Lewes, formerly of Carmel, N.Y., passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, surrounded by loving family at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
Marty was born in Yonkers, N.Y., Sept. 6, 1935, son of the late William Kenneth and Mary (Whalen) Horton. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Horton retired in 1990 as a sergeant with Westchester County Corrections in Valhalla, N.Y. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 28. Marty enjoyed people watching on the boardwalk, fishing and going on cruises.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol I. (Cormack) Horton; three children, Virginia Porter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Patricia Holohan of Poughquag, N.Y., and Linda Bayer of Doylestown, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services and burial was held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
