Mary Colleen Grady, Rehoboth cosmetologist

Mary Colleen Grady, 57, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at her home in Lewes. She was born July 24, 1962, in Atlantic City, N.J., daughter of Annabelle Boire and the late Joseph Grady.
 
Ms. Grady graduated in 1980 from Dickinson High School in Wilmington. She enjoyed a lifelong career as a cosmetologist specializing in nail art, hair styling and design with her loving mother at family-owned business Boire's Hair Designs and Day Spa in Rehoboth Beach for 26 years. Locally, she was an event coordinator for Angola by the Bay. In her early years, Ms. Grady was a model, baton twirler and was awarded in 1969 Atlantic City Princess of the Children's Parade. Her passions included tole painting, going to the beach or pool, and soaking in the sun. Ms. Grady was nothing more than a dedicated mother to her daughter Alyce Danielle Grady, including but not limited to being a Girl Scout cookie mom. Ms. Grady had a contagious laugh and infectious smile that will be missed by all who knew her.
 In addition to her father, Ms. Grady was preceded in death by her stepfather, Stanley Boire; and her stepsister, Jayla Boire. She is survived by her daughter, Alyce Danielle Grady of Lewes; her mother, Annabelle Boire of Lewes; her stepmother, Diane Grady of New Jersey; her stepsisters: Paula Dougherty of Linwood, N.J., and Susie Yates of Bear; her uncle, Philip Gaffney Jr. of Somers Point, N.J.; her aunts: Kathleen Gaffney of Glen Ridge, N.J., and Mary Jane Rodowicz of Anaconda, Mont.; nephew, Kyle Wanstall of Bear; her nieces; Meghan Dougherty of Linwood, Shannon Dougherty of Linwood and Rachel Theden of Bear; her cousins: Nicole Ott, Philip Gaffney III, Bruce Crescenzo, Brian Crescenzo, Steven Benyo and Kristen Gerard.  
 
A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m., at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Epworth Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.  

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions in Ms. Grady’s name to Epworth United Methodist Church to the address listed above.
